FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Are reservations required?
No they are not, but we HIGHLY recommend making reservations or at least calling ahead. We are limited on the number of people we can send per tour and have a set schedule of tours each day. Without a reservation we cannot guarantee availability.
  • How do I make a reservation?
You can either call us or make one online! Sometimes we only set up basic tours for online booking so if you don't see what you are looking for call our office at (706) 878-9477. We require full payment when you make the reservation.
  • Do I have to sign a waiver?
Yes, prior to participating in any of our activities (including tours and camping) you must sign a waiver. You can print your waiver ahead of time or sign one when you arrive at our office. Those under 18 years old must have an adult sign for them.
  • What is your weight limit?
On our ziplines and challenege course the maximum weight limit is 250lbs and the minimum weight limit is 40lbs. There is not a maximum weight for our giant swing, but you must be able to safely fit into a harness.
  • What is your age limit?
We do not have an age limit on our ziplines! As long as the participant meets our weight requirments they can be any age. However, children cannot connect to adults for the zipline; they must go down the zipline by themselves. Certified guides take you along our course and do all the work for you. Participants must be at least 8 years or older for our challenge course, as they have to be physically and mentally able to work through each obstacle. Participants must be at least 7 years old or older to ride on the ATVs, as they have to properly be fit to a seat belt.
  • Do you have a zip line for kids?
We have no age limit on our basic zip line tours! As long as the zipper is at least 40 pounds they can participate. The first line on our canopy tour is short and low to the ground--a great way to ease into to zip lining! Usually if they can do the first line they will be fine finishing the course. We do have a smaller line outside our office that can be reserved for parties.
  • What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Please notify Nacoochee Adventures if you need to cancel or reschedule your reservation as soon as possible. WE DO STILL ZIP IN THE RAIN. Cancellation 5 days in advance is a 100% full refund Cancellation more than 48 hours to 4 days is a 50% refund No refund issued for a cancellation less than 48 hours Reschedule your tour at least 24 hours in advance for no charge If you are late or do not show for a tour we will not issue a refund.
  • Where are you located?
We are approximately 1 mile south of the downtown of Helen, GA. We are located in the Nacoochee Village on the same campus as the Habersham Winery.
  • Do you ever close because of weather?
Nacoochee Adventures is located in an area where weather is hard to predict. We check national and local weather stations each morning and evening, as well as throughout the day. The only time we will close or cancel a tour due to weather is when lightning is present. WE DO NOT CANCEL DUE TO RAIN. In the event of a thunderstorm, we might postpone your tour until the storm passes. In this case we only close for an hour or so, not the whole day. If you do not show due to weather and the tour was not cancelled, we will not issue a refund.
  • Is Nacoochee Adventures only open during certain seasons?
No, we are not a seasonal operation and are open year round! However, our hours may vary in the off season so make sure to check our website for hours or call ahead.
  • Do you offer group rates?
Yes and we also offer parties for large groups. Please refer to our Groups and Party Page for more information and call us for special rates.
  • I have members of my group that are not participating. Do you have any activities for them to do while waiting?
Members not participating in an activity are more than welcome to hang out in our spacious office while waiting on their group to return. It is difficult to see the ziplines and ATV trails from the office so those not participating will not be able to watch. We are on the same campus as the Habersham Winery and Nacoochee Village Antique Mall if they wish to do something while waiting.
  • Can you refuse someone from ziplining?
Nacoochee Adventures reserves the right to refuse anyone access to our tours if we feel it would be detrimental to the guest, other guests, or our staff. This would include, but not be limited to, a guest under the influence of drugs or alcohol, someone who is over or under the weight limit and restrictions, someone unable to obey rules, and those who may be physically unable. We want everyone we see to participate in our adventures so if you have special requests please call us in advance to discuss your situation.
  • I have a physical disability, can I still zipline?"
Please call us directly to discuss your individual needs. Our course is designed that you walk up a staircase to the first platform and then zip platform to platform--there are no obstacles while on the zipline. We have zipped numerous handicapped individuals. We want everyone we see to be able to zip so do not hesitate to call and speak with us!
  • Is this safe?
We take every step to ensure that we minimize the risk as much as possible in these high-risk activities. With certified guides, strict policies, and the best equipment available on the market we will provide you with a fun adventure at the most minimal risk possible.
  • What should I wear?
Be sure to dress comfortably, as you will be in an outdoor environment. WEAR CLOSED-TOE SHOES. You are not allowed to zip in flip-flops or sandals. Toes must be covered. We do rent shoes on site. Refrain from wearing dangly jewelry. Be sure to empty your pockets of sharp or valuable objects. We can lock stuff up in our office while you are out. Shorts are fine, but be aware you are wearing a full body harness with shoulder, waist, and leg straps. PLEASE NO SKIRTS OR DRESSES.
  • When should I arrive for my tour?
You must arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time. We gear up early and leave out on the hour. If you miss your scheduled tour time we will do our best to get you on a later tour. If this is not possible we will allow you to reschedule for another time BUT DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS FOR LATE ARRIVALS. Please be aware that traffic in Helen can get backed up during peak months. We cannot guarantee that there will be a later tour time if you miss your scheduled slot.
  • Can I carry my phone or camera with me on my adventure?
Yes and we encourage it! Just make sure to ask the guides how to best carry your items safely and securely while on the course. Be advised that sometimes accidents do happen and we are not responsible for any broken or lost personal items.
  • Will I be required to exert any physical effort while on the course?
On our basic zip line tours, the guides operate the connection points and braking system so you are free to sit back and enjoy the ride! All that is required is the ability to go up a 10 step staircase at the start, and a short walk at the end of the tour. Our challenge course is great for those looking for obstacles and a workout.
  • Are bathrooms or water stations available on the course?
We have water stations at each of our activity spots, but feel free to bring your own bottle with you. There are no bathrooms while on the course, so be sure to go at our office before gearing up!
  • What if I decide not to finish the course halfway through?
Most of our courses are platform based--therefore the only way down is to finish the course. There will be guides with you at every point of your adventure! They are great at talking you through the process and your fears. In the event that there is an absolute refusal to finish the course or an emergency, guides can conduct a lowering. This involves a guide facilitated repel down from the platform. However, we rarely perform these outside of an emergency, as it is time consuming and often more scary than the adventure itself. If you are concerned at any part of your tour do not hesitate to let your guide know.
